The House

Sarasola Zahar guesthouse is a typical farm in the rural area of Gipuzkoa. It’s surrounded by beautiful meadows and small forests, which make it a quiet and peaceful place, ideal to disconnect.

Located, away from urban centers, our house allows you to enjoy family vacations in a quiet and calm atmosphere. We would like to highlight the impressive viewof the Cantabrian Sea that runs along the coast of Gipuzkoa with its small towns like Zarautz, Getaria, or Zumaia.

Despite its isolated location, the guesthouse still is close to many places to discover, such as the above-mentioned coastal towns: Zumaia 10km, Getaria 12km, Zarautz 15km. Our visitors benefit from easy access to a wide range of gastronomy, folklore, beaches, and water sports.

HISTORY AND EVOLUTION

Staying at Sarasola Zahar will allow you to discover the history of a Basque farmhouse. Se trata de un edificio, que durante los siglos de su existencia, ha ido modificando sus dimensiones hasta tomar su aspecto actual.Over many centuries of existence, the dimensions and appearance of the building have changed. The last major reconstruction dates from the 19th century. Built of stone, it has a an oak wood structure.

At the beginning of the 1990s, reforms and modifications were undertaken in order to accommodate travelers. The traditional activity of Sarasola Zahar was gradually replaced by rural tourism.
